The Lyndex-Nikken 300-036 is a new 3J-series collet ground to accept 9/16 in (0.5625 in) round stock, manufactured to the 3J collet standard which features a 5° included taper angle and is designed for use in 3J-type collet chucks and collet closers on engine lathes and turning machines. The collet body is steel with a blackened/nitrided surface finish and features four longitudinal saw slots creating four gripping segments for uniform clamping force around the workpiece circumference. Lyndex-Nikken part number 300-036 encodes the 3J series (300) and the bore size in 64ths of an inch (036 = 36/64 = 9/16 in), confirming the stamped markings visible on the face. Made in India and sold new in original Lyndex-Nikken packaging, this collet is a direct replacement or addition to 3J collet sets used on LeBlond, Hardinge, and other lathes equipped with 3J collet closers.
