The M.A. Ford MXDCLM0245A is a new 2.45mm Altima® Twister® Micro Cool Drill with a 12X diameter flute length, designed for high-precision through-coolant drilling in demanding production environments. Constructed from submicron carbide substrate and coated with M.A. Ford's proprietary Altima® multilayer PVD coating, this drill provides superior heat and wear resistance for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and titanium alloys. The 12X length-to-diameter ratio provides deep-hole drilling capability for micro applications, while the Twister® geometry features a parabolic flute profile that promotes efficient chip evacuation. Internal through-coolant channels (Micro Cool) deliver cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, enabling higher feeds and speeds and extended tool life in high-volume production.
