The Machinist 32-158-008 is a new master precision level with a 12-inch cast iron body and a sensitivity of 0.0005" per 10 inches (approximately 0.1 mm/m or 20 arc-seconds), making it one of the most accurate bubble vial levels available for machine tool alignment and surface plate work. The ground and scraped cast iron base, 1-7/8 inches wide, provides a stable reference surface for setting up lathes, mills, grinders, and other machine tools to tight tramming and leveling tolerances. A single precision ground main vial with graduated markings is centrally positioned on the face, and a secondary cross-check vial is visible on the left end, allowing both longitudinal and lateral level verification. The unit ships in a fitted hardwood storage and carrying case with foam lining to protect the precision ground surfaces, and includes an operation manual with adjustment procedure. Typical applications include precision machine tool installation, surface plate certification checks, and leveling of optical or metrology equipment.
