The Makita DX01 (part number 195895-5) is a new dust extraction system (Staubabsaugung) designed to attach directly to compatible Makita rotary hammer drills, capturing concrete and masonry dust at the source during drilling operations. The unit features a HEPA filter element visible through the clear transparent dust collection canister, trapping fine particulate including silica dust generated when drilling into concrete, brick, and block. The telescoping intake tube adjusts to accommodate varying drill bit lengths and includes a rotating bit shroud collar that seals around the drill bit to maximize suction efficiency; five rubber bit-size adapter rings are included in the box to fit different bit diameters. The DX01 mounts to the rotary hammer via the tool's front handle boss and battery-powered fan — it requires a compatible Makita 18V LXT battery (not included) to drive the onboard extraction motor.
