The Micro 100 BB-320500SG is a new, solid "Super Carbide" right-hand boring bar from Micro 100's BB (Boring Bar) series, manufactured in the USA. Decoding the part number: BB = Boring Bar, 320 = 5/16 in (0.3125 in) shank diameter, 500 = 1/2 in (0.500 in) minimum bore diameter, SG = Single-end, with a TiN (gold) coated carbide insert brazed at the tip — consistent with the bright gold cutting tip clearly visible in the photos. The bar body features a DLC/black-oxide finish on the steel shank with a precision-ground flat for secure setscrew clamping, and the gold-colored TiN-coated carbide tip provides superior wear resistance for boring steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys.
