The Micro 100 BB-3601150SG is a new, solid carbide boring bar from Micro 100's "Super Carbide" line, manufactured in the U.S.A. and designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. Decoding the part number: "BB" = Boring Bar; "360" = 0.360 in. minimum bore diameter; "1150" = 1.150 in. boring depth (reach); "SG" = straight geometry (non-coolant-through, straight shank). The tool features a TiN (Titanium Nitride) gold-colored PVD coating on the cutting head and shank extension, which is clearly visible in the photo, providing improved wear resistance and lubricity versus uncoated carbide. The cylindrical shank transitions from an uncoated steel rear section into the coated solid carbide boring head, and the single-point cutting geometry is ground for right-hand internal turning. Suited for boring small-diameter holes in steel, stainless, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials where close tolerances and fine surface finishes are required.
