The Micro 100 BBL-2901100 is a solid carbide left-hand boring bar from the BBL (Boring Bar, Left-hand) series, manufactured in the USA from Micro 100's proprietary "super carbide" submicron grain carbide substrate. Decoding the part number: BBL = Boring Bar, Left-hand; 290 = 0.290 in minimum bore diameter; 1100 = 1.100 in maximum depth of cut (DOC). The bar features a black DLC/TiN-family PVD coating (visible in photos as the dark nitride-style finish), which reduces friction and built-up edge in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This tool is designed for use on CNC lathes and manual lathes, clamping directly into standard round-bore toolholders; the shank diameter of 0.375 in (3/8 in) is standard for the BBL-290 series per Micro 100's published catalog. Supplied new in original Micro 100 orange protective packaging.
