The Micro 100 BMR-012-2X is a new, solid carbide 2-flute ball nose end mill with a 0.012 in (0.305 mm) cutting diameter, part of Micro 100's BMR (Ball nose Micro Reach) series manufactured in the USA from their proprietary "super carbide" submicron grain substrate. The tool features a black AlTiN-style DLC/nitride coating (visible in photos as the uniform matte black finish) designed to reduce friction and extend tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous micro-machining operations. The "2X" suffix designates an extended reach / long-reach shank geometry, providing additional clearance for deeper cavity work without increasing deflection beyond the rated spec. This end mill is suited for micro-milling, engraving, slotting, and 3D contouring in hardened steels, stainless, aluminum, and titanium when run in high-speed CNC machining centers with appropriate collet holders (ER8, ER11, or equivalent precision collets).
