The Micro 100 BMR-027-2X is a new, solid "Super Carbide" subminiature ball end mill manufactured in the USA, designed specifically for micro-milling applications. Decoding the part number: BMR = Ball Mill, Reduced Neck (tapered reach); 027 = 0.027 in (0.686 mm) cutting diameter; 2X = 2× diameter cutting length. The tool features a reduced-neck / tapered shank profile clearly visible in the photo, which maximizes rigidity while allowing access into narrow cavities — a key advantage for mold & die finishing, medical device components, and fine detail engraving in hardened steels and exotic alloys.
