Micro 100 DMM-050-2120 1/2in 2-Flute Downcut Carbide End Mill

The Micro 100 DMM-050-2120 is a new, USA-made solid carbide downcut (down-spiral) end mill with 2 flutes, a 1/2 in (0.500 in) cutting diameter, 1/2 in shank diameter, 1 in length of cut, and 3 in overall length, as decoded from Micro 100's DMM series nomenclature (DMM = Downcut Mortising Mill; 050 = 0.500 in diameter; 2 = 2 flutes; 1 = 1.0 in LOC; 20 = 3.0 in OAL per Micro 100's published catalog). Manufactured from Micro 100's "Super Carbide" submicron-grain substrate and finished with a dark DLC/black PVD coating visible in the photos, this tool provides excellent surface finish on the bottom of a cut by driving chips downward, suppressing workpiece tearout and delamination on wood composites, laminates, plastics, and non-ferrous materials routed on CNC machining centers. The square-end, center-cutting geometry and right-hand helix with left-hand (downcut) spiral makes it particularly well-suited for through-cuts in sheet goods where a clean top-face finish is critical. Compatible with standard 1/2 in ER collets, shrink-fit, or end-mill holders.
