The Micro 100 GEC-187-3-030X is a new, USA-made solid carbide ball nose end mill with a 3/16 in (0.187 in) cutting diameter, 3-flute geometry, and a 3/16 in shank diameter, designed for profiling, contouring, and 3D surface milling operations. The tool features a dark blue-black physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating — consistent with Micro 100's standard AlTiN or TiAlN treatment on their GEC series — which provides elevated hardness and oxidation resistance for cutting steels, stainless steels, and high-temperature alloys. At 0.030 in overall length of cut (LOC), this is a stub-reach end mill optimized for rigidity and reduced deflection in precision finishing passes rather than deep-cavity work. The round shank is compatible with standard ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and any toolholder accepting 3/16 in round shanks. Manufactured by Micro 100 Tool Corporation in Meridian, Idaho, this tool is supplied new in its original sealed plastic tube packaging.
