The Micro 100 MEF-060-090 is a new, USA-made solid carbide square end mill from Micro 100's MEF (Miniature End Mill, Flat) series, ground from their proprietary "Super Carbide" submicron-grain tungsten carbide substrate. Decoding the part number: MEF = Miniature End Mill Flat; 060 = 0.060 in (3/64 in) cutting diameter; 090 = 0.090 in length of cut. The tool features 2 flutes, a necked-down reach geometry visible in the photos that provides clearance for deep or confined pocketing, and carries Micro 100's standard AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating — evidenced by the uniform dark black finish across the entire tool body. The 1/8 in (0.125 in) straight shank is standard for this diameter class per Micro 100's published MEF series specifications, with an overall length of 1.5 in. Designed for precision slot milling, pocketing, and profiling in ferrous alloys, stainless steel, titanium, and hardened steels up to ~55 HRC; compatible with 1/8 in collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles.
