The RME series encodes the following: R = reach/tapered configuration, ME = miniature end mill, 013 = 0.013 in tip diameter, 2X = 2-flute, confirming this is a long-reach, small-diameter tool intended for deep pocket and contour milling where a standard-reach tool cannot access. The tapered shank narrows from a full cylindrical shank to a needle-point cutting zone, providing excellent rigidity-to-reach ratio while minimizing deflection in fine detail work.
