The Micro 100 SME-009-2X is a new solid carbide single-flute engraving end mill from Micro 100's "Super Carbide" line, manufactured in the USA. The MPN decodes as follows: "SME" = Single-flute engraving Mill, "009" = 0.009 in (0.229 mm) tip diameter, "2X" = 2× extended reach / extra-long configuration. The tool features a tapered profile tapering from a cylindrical shank down to the 0.009 in pointed tip, providing high rigidity in the shank while enabling ultra-fine line engraving and detailed marking on metals, plastics, and composites. Micro 100's proprietary "Super Carbide" substrate is a sub-micron grain tungsten carbide formulation ground to tight tolerances, yielding excellent wear resistance and edge sharpness suited for CNC engraving, pantographing, V-carving, and PCB routing operations on machining centers or dedicated engraving machines using a standard cylindrical shank collet.
