The Micro 100 SME-029-2X is a new, USA-made solid carbide square-end end mill from the SME (Square End — Extended Reach / Tapered Shank) series, featuring a 0.029" cutting diameter on a tapered-reach neck with a 2-flute geometry. Manufactured from Micro 100's proprietary "super carbide" submicron-grain tungsten carbide substrate and finished with a black AlTiN-style PVD coating visible in the photos, this tool is engineered for deep-reach slotting and profiling in tight-cavity and mold/die work. The tapered shank body reduces deflection at extended reach while maintaining clearance from workpiece walls, making it well-suited for machining hardened steels, stainless, titanium, and non-ferrous alloys in CNC milling centers. The 2-flute configuration optimizes chip evacuation in slot milling and is compatible with standard 1/8" or 3/16" collets depending on the shank diameter specified for this series.
