Micro 100 VHM-500-5K 1/2 in 5-Flute TiAlN Carbide End Mill

The Micro 100 VHM-500-5K is a new, solid carbide 5-flute square end mill with a 1/2 in (0.500 in) cutting diameter, manufactured in the USA from submicron-grain "Super Carbide" as branded by Micro 100. The VHM designation in Micro 100's lineup denotes their Variable Helix end mill series, engineered with unequal flute spacing and a variable helix angle to suppress chatter and resonance during aggressive milling operations — the "5K" suffix confirms the 5-flute, 1/2 in diameter configuration. The dark physical coating visible on the tool is consistent with Micro 100's standard TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) treatment applied to this series, which provides high hardness, oxidation resistance up to ~1,650°F, and extended tool life in ferrous materials including alloy steels, stainless steels, and hardened steels up to ~55 HRC. The 1/2 in shank is compatible with standard ER32, ER40, and similarly sized collet chucks, as well as Weldon-flat-style end mill holders. This tool is supplied new in Micro 100's orange protective packaging.
