The Mitsubishi Materials DVJNR-163 is a new, right-hand external turning toolholder from the Dia/Edge product line, manufactured in Taiwan to ISO/ANSI standards. Decoding the designation: D = shank style (screw-on/pin-lock clamping), V = 35° diamond (V-shape) insert seat, J = clearance angle N (0°) with negative rake, N = neutral/straight shank, R = right-hand cutting direction, 163 = 1 in × 1 in shank cross-section with 6 in overall length. The holder accepts VNMG-style negative-rake 35° diamond carbide inserts (VNMG 16 series, e.g. VNMG 332 / VNMG 160408) secured via a top-clamp/pin-lock mechanism, and is compatible with standard 1 in square tool post and quick-change tool post systems. The 35° V-shape insert geometry allows profiling, contouring, and finish turning in both longitudinal and facing directions; the included Torx wrench (T15) enables secure insert indexing in the field.
