The Mitsubishi Materials IMX20B4HV0750ME is a new, indexable iMX series interchangeable ball nose milling head in grade EP7020, designed for the iMX modular end mill system using a threaded M20 screw-on interface. Decoded from the part number: "IMX" = iMX system, "20" = 20 mm shank coupling diameter (M20 thread), "B4" = ball nose geometry with 4 flutes, "HV" = high-helix variable-pitch flute form for vibration suppression, "0750" = 0.750 in (3/4 in) cutting diameter, "ME" = medium length. The EP7020 grade is a PVD-coated (AlTiN-family) cemented carbide grade from Mitsubishi's DIAEDGE line, optimized for hardened steels and difficult-to-cut materials including mold steels, die steels, and pre-hardened steels up to approximately HRC 60. The dark blue-black DLC/PVD coating is clearly visible in the photos along with the engraved part number on the head body. This head mounts directly onto Mitsubishi iMX series shank holders (sold separately) and is manufactured in Japan to tight dimensional tolerances for repeatable runout performance in high-speed finishing and semi-finishing operations.
