The Mitsubishi Materials DIA∙EDGE MFE0590X02S060 is a new, solid carbide 2-flute MFE-series drill in grade DP1020, manufactured in Japan and designed for high-efficiency drilling in steel, cast iron, and stainless steel. Decoding the MPN: MFE = MFE Drill series; 0590 = 5.90 mm cutting diameter; X02 = 2×D (shallow) depth-of-cut ratio (max drilling depth 2× diameter, approximately 11.8 mm); S060 = 6.0 mm straight shank diameter. The DP1020 carbide grade features a PVD TiAlN-based multi-layer coating (evidenced by the characteristic dark/violet finish visible in photos) engineered for high heat resistance and extended tool life in steel and stainless-steel applications. The 6.0 mm straight shank is compatible with ER collet chucks, hydraulic chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders with a 6 mm bore; the tool is suited for CNC machining centers and drilling machines requiring repeatable, high-precision hole quality.
