The Mitsubishi Materials MSE0029SB VP20MF is a new, solid carbide micro drill from the DIA EDGE Miracle Mini Star Drill series, designed for precision drilling of very small-diameter holes in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. The MPN decodes as follows: MSE = Miracle Mini Star (micro) drill series, 0029 = 0.29 mm drill diameter, SB = straight body/shank designation. The VP20MF grade is a PVD-coated (multilayer AlTiN-based) ultrafine carbide substrate in Mitsubishi's VP series, engineered for high hardness, wear resistance, and chip evacuation in difficult-to-machine ferrous materials at elevated cutting speeds. The tool features the characteristic Star Drill point geometry (four-facet thinned point) that virtually eliminates center walking and reduces thrust force, enabling high-accuracy micro-hole generation without a center drill, making it suited for medical, semiconductor, mold & die, and precision electronics machining applications.
