Mitsubishi MVE0800X03S080 DP1020 8mm WSTAR Solid Carbide Drill

This is a new Mitsubishi Materials WSTAR Drill in the MIRACLE series, part number MVE0800X03S080, grade DP1020, made in Thailand under the DIA EDGE brand. The MVE series designates a solid carbide, through-coolant-capable stub/short flute drill with a 8.00 mm cutting diameter, 3xD drilling depth capacity, and an 8 mm straight shank. The DP1020 grade features Mitsubishi's MIRACLE coating — a multilayer nano-composite PVD coating (dark reddish-bronze appearance visible in photos) that provides high hardness, excellent heat resistance, and superior chip evacuation, making this drill well-suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and difficult-to-cut alloys at elevated cutting speeds. The drill features a 140° point angle with a thinned web (crankshaft-type split point) for self-centering and reduced thrust force, compatible with CNC machining centers and CNC lathes using ER collet chucks or hydraulic toolholders accepting 8 mm shanks.
