The Mitsubishi Materials MVS0380X20S060 is a new, solid carbide WSTAR Miracle drill from the DIAEDGE line, carrying the DP1020 grade and manufactured in Japan. Decoding the MPN: MVS = WSTAR series w/ straight shank & internal coolant (miracle coating); 0380 = 3.8 mm drill diameter; X20 = 20× drill depth-to-diameter ratio (deep hole capable); S060 = 6.0 mm straight (cylindrical) shank diameter. The DP1020 grade is Mitsubishi's PVD-coated (CrSiN-based Miracle coating) ultrafine-grain carbide substrate engineered for drilling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron with excellent crater- and flank-wear resistance at high cutting speeds. The drill features a W-shaped double margin web-thinned point geometry for self-centering and low thrust force, two internal through-coolant holes for chip evacuation and heat suppression in deep-hole applications, and a reduced-neck design transitioning the 3.8 mm flute to the 6.0 mm shank for rigidity. Compatible with ER collet chucks (ER16 or larger bore), hydraulic chucks, or precision shrink-fit holders sized to 6.0 mm shank bore.
