The Mitsubishi Materials MWS0220X30DB is a new, solid carbide Miracle WStar Super Long Drill from the Dia-Edge line, featuring a 2.2 mm cutting diameter and a 30×D length-to-diameter ratio for deep-hole drilling applications. The drill is coated in VP15TF, Mitsubishi's PVD TiAlN-based multi-layer coating engineered for high heat resistance and wear resistance, making it well-suited for deep drilling in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and heat-resistant alloys. Internal coolant-through holes run the length of the flute body, enabling high-pressure coolant delivery directly to the cutting edge to evacuate chips and maintain tool life at elevated depths. The MWS series employs a double-margin flute geometry with a web-thinned split-point design for accurate self-centering and reduced thrust force. Made in Japan to Mitsubishi Materials' published tolerances, this drill is designed for use in CNC machining centers with collet or hydraulic toolholding systems accepting an 8 mm shank diameter.
