The Mitsubishi Materials VQMHZVD0160 is a solid carbide end mill from the DiaEdge VQ-MHZV series, featuring a 1.60 mm nose diameter, 3.20 mm length of cut, 4.00 mm shank diameter, and 45.00 mm overall length — new in original packaging, made in Japan. The variable helix geometry (42–45°) suppresses chatter and regenerative vibration during high-speed finishing passes, while the AlCrN (aluminum chromium nitride) PVD coating delivers outstanding oxidation resistance and hardness retention at elevated temperatures, making this tool well suited for hardened steels, stainless steels, and difficult-to-cut alloys up to approximately HRC 60. The reduced-neck profile and long-reach geometry allow access to deep cavities and complex contoured surfaces in mold and die work, and the tool is compatible with standard 4 mm collet chucks, hydraulic chucks, and shrink-fit holders. The "U1" grade marking visible on the shank denotes Mitsubishi's ultra-fine grain carbide substrate, engineered for rigidity and edge sharpness at micro-diameters.
