The Mitsubishi Materials VQXLD0050N015 is a new, solid carbide square end mill from the DiaEdge VQ-XL series, designed for high-precision micro-milling with a 0.50 mm cutting diameter and 0.70 mm length of cut (LOC). The tool features a 4-flute configuration with a 35° helix angle, promoting smooth chip evacuation and superior surface finish in small-feature milling applications. It carries an AlCrN (Aluminum Chromium Nitride) coating — designated "ZM" in Mitsubishi's coding — which delivers excellent oxidation resistance and hardness at elevated temperatures, making it well-suited for cutting hardened steels, stainless steels, and heat-resistant alloys. The 4.00 mm shank diameter and 40.00 mm overall length (OAL) are suited for use in collet-style toolholders and micro-milling spindles; the long-neck profile visible in the photos provides clearance for deep-cavity and mold/die work. Manufactured in Japan under Mitsubishi's SMART coating technology for consistent batch-to-batch performance.
