Mitutoyo 139-202 IMJ-40S 4-40in 0.001in Tubular Inside Micrometer Set

The Mitutoyo 139-202 (model IMJ-40S) is a new, Japanese-manufactured mechanical tubular inside micrometer set covering a measurement range of 4.000" to 40.000" with a graduation of 0.001" (0.01mm). The set consists of a micrometer head, an end cap, and a series of interchangeable extension rods of varying lengths that thread together to build up to the desired measurement range — the assembly chart visible in the case lid details every rod combination required to cover each 1" increment across the full 4"–40" span. Carbide-tipped contact points ensure wear resistance and measurement repeatability on bores, cylinders, and large-diameter internal features in engine blocks, large housings, and precision bores. The micrometer head uses a standard thimble-and-sleeve design with a friction thimble for consistent measuring force, and all components are stored in a fitted foam-lined hardwood case with two metal latches.
