The Mitutoyo 160-102 is a new, long-range stainless steel vernier caliper with a 0–24 in (0–600 mm) measuring range and a vernier graduation of 0.001 in (0.02 mm), providing an accuracy of ±0.002 in (±0.05 mm). The beam-style construction features dual-scale graduation (inch and metric) etched directly into the hardened stainless steel beam, with two locking screws for securing both the main slider and the fine-adjustment clamp — a configuration suited for large-workpiece measurement in aerospace, heavy fabrication, shipbuilding, and precision layout work. The 160-102 incorporates a 3.937 in (100 mm) jaw depth for deep-reach inside and outside measurements, and the beam is treated with a matte black oxide finish to reduce glare and resist corrosion. Made in Japan to Mitutoyo's published accuracy standards, this caliper ships in its original Mitutoyo orange box with TEROSON VCI corrosion-inhibitor packaging and instruction sheet.
