This is a new Mitutoyo 215-156-10 comparator gage stand column assembly, sold without the granite base, consisting of the vertical post column and the cast iron clamp/carrier head as shown in the third photo where the two components are separated. The column is a ground and polished steel post with a fine-pitch knurled/ribbed exterior surface that allows the indicator carrier head to be positioned and locked at any height using the split-bore clamp mechanism, which is secured via a star-grip knob and a secondary locking screw for fine clamping tension. The carrier head features a standard bore that accepts the column post, a secondary horizontal bore for mounting a dial indicator or comparator gauge holder arm, and an adjustable fine-positioning rack mechanism at the top of the column for precise vertical adjustment of the indicator. This column assembly is designed as a replacement or spare component for Mitutoyo 215-series comparator stand systems, compatible with Mitutoyo dial indicator and digital indicator comparator setups used in surface plate inspection, part comparison, and dimensional verification workflows. Condition is new.
