The Mitutoyo 293-340-32 MDC-1PX is a new, Made-in-Japan digital outside micrometer with a 0–1 inch (0–25 mm) measurement range, offering dual-resolution readout of 0.00005 in / 0.001 mm on a large LCD display. The frame carries an IP65 coolant-proof rating, protecting the encoder and electronics against cutting fluid splash and fine chip intrusion in production environments. Resolution is selectable between 0.00005 in and 0.001 mm via the in/mm button, and the instrument features ORIGIN, ZERO/ABS, and HOLD functions along with an analog thimble scale for redundant mechanical reference. The unit is powered by a single SR44 (1.55 V) silver-oxide button cell and ships in a fitted hard-plastic case with a Mitutoyo factory warranty card. Carbide-tipped spindle and anvil faces are standard on this series, making it suitable for repeated measurement of ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in precision machining, inspection, and quality-control applications.
