The Mitutoyo 293-344-30 is a new Digimatic outside micrometer from the MDC-PXT series featuring a 0–1 in (0–25.4 mm) measuring range, an LCD digital readout with 0.00005 in / 0.001 mm resolution, and IP65 coolant-proof sealing for reliable operation in wet or oily machining environments. The frame is hardened and ground steel with carbide-tipped measuring faces; the instrument provides inch/mm switchable readout with ORIGIN, ZERO/ABS, and HOLD functions accessible via three front-panel push buttons, and a friction thimble (ratchet-stop) ensures consistent gaging force. Accuracy is ±0.0001 in (±0.001 mm) over the full range per Mitutoyo's published specification, and each unit ships with an individual Certificate of Inspection traceable to Mitutoyo standards (equivalent to NIST/PTB). The 293-344-30 (model code MDC-1"PXT) operates on a single SR44SW (1.55 V) silver-oxide battery and includes a spanner wrench, battery, certificate of inspection, and fitted plastic carrying case; it is manufactured in Japan.
