The Mitutoyo 293-831-32 is a new MDC-1" SX series digital outside micrometer with a measuring range of 0–1 inch (0–25.4 mm), featuring an LCD digital readout with selectable inch/mm display, 0.00005 in (0.001 mm) resolution, and a certified accuracy of ±0.0001 in (±0.002 mm). The spindle and anvil faces are tipped with solid carbide for extended wear life, and the thimble incorporates a ratchet stop to ensure consistent, repeatable measuring force across all users. The frame is constructed with a thermally insulating coating on the grip area to minimize heat transfer from the operator's hand, preserving measurement stability in production environments. It includes an ORIGIN (zero) button and IN/MM conversion button on the front face, ships with an SR44SW 1.55 V battery, a molded plastic storage case, and a calibration certificate (as indicated by the -CAL suffix on the box label 293-831-32-CAL).
