The Mitutoyo 293-832-32 is a new MDC-1"SXF Digimatic outside micrometer with a 0–1 inch (0–25.4 mm) measuring range, manufactured in Japan. It features a 0.00005 inch / 0.001 mm resolution LCD digital readout with ORIGIN and in/mm toggle buttons, and employs Mitutoyo's ABS (absolute) electromagnetic induction encoder, which eliminates the need to re-zero after power loss. The frame is constructed from die-cast zinc alloy with a baked-enamel finish for rigidity and thermal stability, and includes a friction thimble (ratchet-stop) for consistent measuring force. The unit ships complete in a fitted plastic case with a certificate of inspection, SR44 battery, and reference standard; it carries CE and UKCA marks confirming conformance to applicable metrology standards.
