The Mitutoyo 468-271 is a new Holtest Digital Three-Point Internal Micrometer (Series 468, model HTD-3" R) covering a measurement range of 2.5–3.0 inches, as confirmed by the range marking stamped directly on the measuring head face visible in the photos and by the box label. The three-point contact design self-centers in the bore and contacts the bore wall at three equally spaced 120° points simultaneously, eliminating the need for rocking and providing repeatable, single-axis alignment; the carbide-tipped contact points resist wear for long service life. The integrated LCD digital display with IP65 coolant/dust protection (visible on the display bezel) reads in inch/mm with 0.00005 in (0.001 mm) resolution, and the display unit features HOLD, ZERO/ABS, and PRESET functions accessible via front-panel push buttons. The Series 468 Holtest accepts Mitutoyo's SPC data output for statistical process control integration, and the unit ships complete in the original Mitutoyo plastic carrying case with calibration certificate, spanner wrench, and battery screwdriver as shown in the kit photo.
