The Mitutoyo 500-171-32 is a new, 6-inch (150 mm) Absolute AOS (Advanced Onsite Sensor) Digimatic digital caliper from Mitutoyo's CD-AXU series, made in Japan from stainless steel. It features Mitutoyo's ABSOLUTE linear encoder system, which retains the origin point at power-off so the tool always displays the correct position on power-up with no zeroing required after battery change. The caliper measures outside diameter, inside diameter, depth, and step dimensions with a resolution of 0.01 mm / 0.0005 in and an accuracy of ±0.02 mm / ±0.001 in; the display switches between inch and millimeter modes via a front-panel button. Data output (Digimatic SPC output port) allows direct interface to Mitutoyo's Digimatic data processors, SPC units, and compatible data collection systems; the unit is powered by a single SR44SW (1.55 V) silver oxide battery included in the kit, which ships with a fitted plastic storage case, VCI anti-corrosion paper, and battery installation instruction sheet.
