The Mitutoyo 500-196-32 is a new, factory-sealed Absolute AOS (Advanced Electromagnetic Induction) Digimatic digital caliper with model designation CD-6"ASXU, offering a 0–6 in / 0–150 mm measurement range with 0.0005 in / 0.01 mm resolution and ±0.001 in accuracy. The AOS electromagnetic induction linear encoder system eliminates the need to reset zero at power-on — the absolute origin is retained even after power-off, preventing costly measurement errors from a missed zero-set. The stainless steel beam and hardened jaws support outside, inside, depth, and step measurements; the thumb-roller provides smooth, controlled slider travel; and a locking screw secures the jaw position. Compatible with Mitutoyo's SPC Digimatic data output standard (no SPC output on this "W/O OUTPUT" variant as confirmed by the MSC packing slip description). Powered by a single SR44 silver oxide button cell (1.55 V, included), Made in Japan, and supplied in a fitted plastic storage case.
