The Mitutoyo 500-197-32 is an 8-inch (200mm) Absolute Digimatic digital caliper from Mitutoyo's 500-series, featuring the AOS (Absolute Origin System) electromagnetic induction encoder that retains the absolute position on power-off and requires no re-zeroing at startup. The stainless steel beam and jaw construction provides durability for shop-floor use; the caliper reads in both inch and metric with a resolution of 0.0005 in / 0.01 mm and an accuracy of ±0.001 in / ±0.02 mm over the full range. Model designation CD-8"ASXU (confirmed on the rear label) indicates the 8-inch range with the ASXU suffix denoting the SPC data output port for connection to Mitutoyo's Digimatic data collection systems; battery is a single SR44 (938A) button cell. This unit is in used–excellent condition and ships in the original Mitutoyo molded plastic carrying case with battery cover; the small metallic accessory visible in the photos is the battery cover/door.
