The Mitutoyo 500-735-20 (model CD-P6"MW) is a new Digimatic ABSOLUTE digital caliper with a 0–150 mm (0–6 in) measuring range, designed for demanding machine-shop environments where coolant and chip contamination are routine. The stainless-steel beam and slider carry an IP67 rating (confirmed on the beam and certificate of inspection), meaning the instrument is dust-tight and can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, eliminating the need to remove the caliper during wet machining operations. Resolution is 0.01 mm / 0.0005 in with a maximum permissible error of ±0.02 mm / ±0.001 in across the full range per the included Mitutoyo Certificate of Inspection (traceable to NMIJ/AIST via JCSS, NIST-equivalent); the ABSOLUTE encoder retains the origin point even after battery replacement, avoiding re-zeroing errors. The caliper measures outside diameter, inside diameter, depth, and step, features carbide-tipped jaws for wear resistance, outputs data via the Mitutoyo Digimatic SPC port, and ships complete with SR44SW battery, protective case, and instructions — made in Japan.
