The Mitutoyo 543-857A is a new ABS (Absolute) Digimatic digital dial indicator, model ID-F0550HNX, manufactured in Japan, featuring a 50.00 mm (2 in) measuring range and 0.001 mm (0.00005 in) resolution with a quoted accuracy of ±0.003 mm. The ABS origin-set system eliminates the need to return to a zero point on power-up, retaining position data across power cycles. The indicator features a flat-back stem configuration with a standard 8 mm diameter stem, a large LCD display, and front-panel buttons for ZERO/SET, MODE, PRESET/ABS, DATA output, and ON/OFF functions. Data output is provided via SPC cable (the included foot-switch and SPC cable accessory, part number 99MAH055M2, is included in the box as confirmed by the photos). The flat-back housing accepts standard Mitutoyo-compatible dial indicator stands and fixtures, and the indicator is compatible with Mitutoyo's Digimatic MUX or U-WAVE wireless data collection systems via the SPC port.
