The Mitutoyo 570-414 HDS-24CX is a 24-inch range ABSOLUTE digital height gage featuring Mitutoyo's capacitive linear encoder system, which retains the origin point even after power-off — eliminating the need to re-zero at startup. The carriage is driven by a rack-and-pinion mechanism with a fine-adjust thumbwheel and a clamp screw for locking position, and the beam rides on a hardened stainless steel column with an integral measurement scale protected by a dust cap at the top. The cast-iron base provides a stable reference surface for use on surface plates, and the display unit outputs in both inch and metric via the in/mm toggle; it supports Mitutoyo's SPC data output for connection to data collection systems. Battery is a single SR44 silver-oxide cell; the unit is Made in Japan and is sold new — other (original Mitutoyo factory carton, showing external shipping wear).
