The Mitutoyo 572-575 is a new Digimatic Scale Unit (model SDV-24"E) with a 0–24 in (0–610 mm) measuring range, designed for vertical installation as a position feedback device on machine tools, surface plates, inspection fixtures, and similar precision equipment. The electromagnetic induction-based absolute linear encoder delivers 0.0005 in (0.01 mm) resolution and ±0.002 in accuracy, with an LCD readout on the sliding carriage unit that displays in inch or millimeter via the in/mm toggle button; additional functions include Zero/ABS origin set, Hold/Data output, and Preset. The carriage outputs measurement data via the standard Mitutoyo Digimatic SPC port (2.5 mm round connector, compatible with Mitutoyo U-WAVE, IT-016U, or direct SPC cables) for integration with data collection systems or digital readout displays. The scale beam is anodized aluminum with hardened stainless steel guide rail, rated for speeds up to 1.5 m/s, and is powered by a single SR44 silver-oxide battery (included). Made in Japan and CE/UKCA marked; supplied with battery, mounting hardware packet, and multilingual instruction sheet.
