Morse 32488 1-1/4-12 NF H4 Plug Hand Tap 6 Flute HSS

The Morse Cutting Tools EDP 32488 (List 2046) is a new, USA-made 1-1/4"-12 NF (National Fine) plug-style hand tap in high-speed steel with 6 flutes and an H4 pitch diameter tolerance limit. The plug chamfer (3–5 threads tapered lead) makes this tap well-suited for through-hole threading as well as moderately deep blind-hole work, balancing ease of starting with fuller thread engagement. The H4 limit (pitch diameter range: +0.0005" to +0.0020" over basic) is chosen for threading harder materials or where tighter thread-class fits are required; it is manufactured to ASME B94.9 standards and produces a 2B class of fit. With 6 flutes on a 1-1/4" diameter body, this tap provides exceptional chip distribution and strength for hand tapping operations in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. The square drive shank is compatible with standard adjustable and solid tap wrenches sized for 1-1/4" taps.
