This is a new 8-piece high-speed steel (HSS) chatterless countersink set covering the full standard range of 1/4 in through 1 in body diameters, all ground to a 90° included angle with 6 flutes — the flute count being the defining feature of the "chatterless" design, which distributes cutting forces to eliminate vibration and produce a smoother, burr-free chamfer than single- or 3-flute tools. Each countersink features a straight round shank and an oxide (black oxide) surface treatment visible in the photos, which provides mild lubricity and corrosion resistance.
