This is a new Nachi List 601 (#601) high-speed steel (HSS) taper shank twist drill with a 1-31/64" (1.484375") cutting diameter and a No. 4 Morse Taper (MT4) shank, Nachi part number 1270034. The List 601 series is Nachi's standard HSS taper shank drill ground to ANSI B94.11 tolerances, featuring a black oxide finish for corrosion resistance and reduced friction, a 118° conventional point angle, and right-hand cut spiral flutes for efficient chip evacuation in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. At 1-31/64" diameter, the MT4 shank mates directly to drill press spindles, lathe tailstocks, and boring mill quills fitted with a No. 4 Morse Taper socket, and can be driven with a standard MT4 drift for removal. The overall length of 9.4 inches (as indicated by the "X9.4" designation on the label) places this drill in the standard jobber-taper-shank length class, suitable for production drilling in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials.
