Nachi LIST561 1-3/16 HSS Straight Shank Screw Machine Length Drill Bit

This is a new Nachi LIST561 straight shank screw machine length (stub length) drill bit in 1-3/16 in diameter, manufactured in Japan from Nachi VH23-grade high speed steel (HSS). Screw machine length drills feature a shorter flute and overall length compared to jobber-length drills, providing increased rigidity and reduced deflection — making them well-suited for production drilling on turret lathes, screw machines, drill presses, and CNC machining centers where rigidity and hole accuracy are critical. The black oxide surface treatment visible on the flutes reduces friction and provides mild corrosion resistance, while the bright-finished straight shank and cutting edges indicate a precision-ground finish. The 1-3/16 in diameter and reduced-length geometry make this drill effective in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and general-purpose materials; the straight shank is compatible with drill chucks accepting up to 1-1/4 in capacity or reduction sleeves as needed.
