This North American Tool Corporation 310052 is a M4x0.7 metric bottoming tap with a D8 pitch diameter limit, 4 flutes and a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, supplied as a pack of 2 in new condition. The straight-flute, bottom-chamfer design with a 0-3 degree rake is made for cutting threads to the bottom of blind holes in brass and other free-machining copper alloys. The TiN coating adds surface hardness and wear resistance, and the tap has a squared drive end on a reduced-diameter shank for use in a tap wrench or holder.
