This OSG EXO series spiral point (gun) plug tap, part number 1764301 (List 397), cuts #8-32 UNC right-hand internal threads with a GH3 pitch diameter limit. The three-flute spiral point geometry pushes chips ahead of the tap, which suits through-hole tapping. The plug chamfer starts the tap evenly, and the steam oxide (S/O) surface treatment helps hold lubricant and reduce galling and built-up edge. The long, relieved shank ends in a square drive. This tap was made in Mexico and is offered new.
