The OSG 430-8197 is a new, solid carbide 4-flute ball nose end mill with a 3/4 in (0.750 in) cutting diameter, made in the USA and sold under OSG's 94404 series designation. The dark gray/black coating visible on the flutes is consistent with OSG's proprietary TiAlN-family coating (TICN or A-Coat), which provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life in hardened steels, alloy steels, stainless, and cast iron. OSG's 430-series ball nose end mills feature a right-hand helix and right-hand cut geometry with a 3/4 in straight shank, making them compatible with standard ER, Weldon, and shrink-fit toolholders sized for 3/4 in shanks. The ball nose profile is suited for 3D contouring, profiling, and finishing operations on CNC machining centers.
