OSG 5585500 1in 6-Flute HSS-Co Long Length End Mill

The OSG 5585500 is a new, 1-inch diameter, 6-flute, long-length cobalt high-speed steel (HSS-Co) single-end end mill belonging to OSG's List 558 series, designed for high-performance milling of ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. The 6-flute geometry provides more cutting edges than standard 4-flute mills, delivering superior surface finish and higher feed rates in semi-finish and finish milling of steels and stainless steels. HSS-Co (M42 or equivalent 8% cobalt grade, as is standard for OSG List 558) offers significantly greater hot hardness and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS, making it well-suited for harder workpiece materials and elevated cutting temperatures. The shank is 1-inch diameter (confirmed by the "1 x 1" label indicating 1-inch cut diameter x 1-inch shank diameter), and the tool carries OSG part number 55855 with date/lot code 6612 as stamped on the shank. Made in Japan, this tool is supplied in OSG's standard plastic tube packaging and is in new, unused condition.
