The Packless LHXR-50 is a new shell-and-tube suction line heat exchanger designed for refrigeration systems with nominal capacity up to 50 horsepower. It transfers heat between the liquid refrigerant line and the suction refrigerant line, subcooling the liquid refrigerant while superheating the suction gas — improving system efficiency, preventing liquid slugging at the compressor, and eliminating flash gas at the expansion device. Construction features a steel outer shell with copper tube ends (visible in photos) and four connection ports: two large-diameter end connections for the suction line and two smaller side-port connections for the liquid line, consistent with Packless LHXR-series design standards. The unit carries UL listing and CE marking as visible on the nameplate label, confirming compliance with applicable safety standards. Typical applications include commercial refrigeration systems, condensing units, and chillers using common refrigerants such as R-22, R-134a, R-404A, and R-410A.
