The Parlec 7716-3-031 is a new, USA-made quick-change end mill holder designed for Parlec's Series 7700 modular quick-change tooling system, which uses a precision-ground, radially-locked ball-detent coupling for fast, repeatable tool changes without removing the spindle nut. The "7716" prefix identifies this as a Series 7700 holder with a size-16 (approximately 1-inch diameter) quick-change coupling head, "3" denotes the stub/short gauge length variation, and "031" encodes the 5/16-inch (0.3125 in) bore diameter, which is confirmed by the engraved ".5/16"" marking visible on the shank. The holder features set-screw side-lock retention (two set-screw ports are visible in the photos at 180° apart on the coupling head) for secure gripping of straight-shank end mills, drills, or reamers with a 5/16 in shank diameter. This holder is compatible with Parlec 7700-series quick-change adapters and is manufactured from alloy steel with a black oxide finish for corrosion resistance.
